At the same time, affected by real estate regulation and control policies since last year, domestic demand has also become increasingly deserted. This has caused the Chinese furniture industry to suffer a cold winter again since the 2008 financial crisis.

In furniture stores in many cities across the country, reporters have found that even if the furniture is sold at a discount, few buyers decide to pay for it. Large enterprises can still eat the old ones, and small workshops are in danger of being eliminated by the market. Industry insiders said that the sales volume of furniture industry in the whole country fell last year. About 30% of the merchants in the hypermarket are at a loss. This year's loss has spread to 50% to 60%.

Industry statistics show that 95% of the entire furniture industry's sales performance this year has fallen sharply compared with the same period last year. Many companies have even fallen by as much as 3-4%. The first town in the domestic furniture export market is Guangzhou In Dalingshan Town, more than 30% of machine tool enterprises are in a state of loss, and the phenomenon of bankruptcy is intensifying. The situation now makes companies feel like they are boiling frogs in warm water. There are two main reasons: One is the slowdown in domestic demand, which is affected by the regulation of real estate. If there are fewer people buying a house, the purchase of furniture will naturally decrease. In addition, under the influence of the sluggish international environment, the European Union has raised the threshold of wood products imports, which is a huge blow to many small and medium-sized furniture manufacturers in China. Many export companies said that European customers who had frequent business contacts with the company in the first half of this year rarely placed orders, and the main export countries concentrated on European furniture companies were not particularly happy. The rising cost of raw materials such as furniture sheets, paints, glues, etc., as well as the artificial rise and the impact of RMB appreciation, the furniture industry is currently struggling under the impact of internal and external factors.

At present, the entire furniture industry is not only deserted from domestic demand, but also sluggish from external demand. The European and American markets are becoming more and more strict with our furniture standards. At the beginning of this year, the US Senate passed the "Formaldehyde Standards Act for Composite Wood Products", which was officially implemented on July 1. This new bill reduces the formaldehyde emissions of wholesale wood products sold in the United States, which poses challenges to China's furniture export companies. Recently, the "EU Wood and Wood Products Regulations and the New Environmental Design Directive" have also been formally adopted, requiring all manufacturers in the wood production, processing and sales chain to submit the wood origin, country and forest, wood volume and weight, and log suppliers The basic information that proves the legality of the source of timber, such as the name and address of the company. This is undoubtedly a severe test for foreign trade furniture companies.
