The entire economy is a process of transformation from manufacturing to service. In the future, the added value of China's service industry will certainly exceed that of industry. In this process, if many companies still follow the management ideas of the past industrialization period, it will be difficult to adapt to the market of the future service economy.
The service economy has several characteristics. The first is customer-centric rather than product-centric. The second is the diversification of demand, because different cultures, different races, and different consumer groups will provide strong diversification needs. Third, it is speed and not the scale and quality that was emphasized in the past. So at this time, the manufacturing industry will allocate manufacturing resources according to the market that is rapidly iteratively updated.
But we have seen that the Internet has actually been used in manufacturing for many years. Twenty years ago, Tsinghua University had a SIMS (Computer Integrated Manufacturing System) technology, but the project failed. The United States is studying how the supply chain is restructured through information systems, so today the entire supply chain is undergoing a process of restructuring. The formation of new, mobile Internet-based value networks through past supply chains has changed the industry's format, so much research is needed in this area. China is actually in the high-end manufacturing industry, facing many challenges in this transformation, but also facing many opportunities. If we can seize the market of China's domestic demand, constantly transform the entire industrial chain, and constantly intensively work, we will have many opportunities.
The real value of the Internet to manufacturing is the ecological chain and added value.
We use the Internet in three perspectives. The first is the application in the factory manufacturing industry; the second is the application in the market; the third is the application between the factory and the market, which is very easy to be ignore. Because of the e-commerce in the market, China is already very developed; factory automation, manufacturing capacity increase, and the transformation of past processes are relatively well developed. But where is China weak? The management of the supply chain is very weak. For example, Xiaomi Mobile is transforming the supply chain of the mobile phone industry with Internet thinking, so it is not a manufacturing enterprise. It is not a retail e-commerce enterprise in the strict sense. It actually uses the Internet model and thinking to transform the entire mobile phone. Especially the low-end smartphone supply chain companies. In addition, Xiaomi is very accurate and finds the value. Because, whether in the factory or in the market, companies must create value. The real value of Xiaomi itself is not the value in the cost of manufacturing mobile phones. The cost is not significantly different from that of Jobs's apples. However, due to the acquisition of channels, it adds a lot of added value, such as software distribution. Therefore, it can be said that Xiaomi is cultivating an ecosystem around mobile phone brands, which requires enterprises to have strong resource control capabilities. Such value is what the Chinese manufacturing industry needs to think about in the future. How to cultivate a new manufacturing ecosystem and closely link manufacturing.
Manufacturing should not be induced by the virtual concept of the Internet
I have come to a lot of friends in the manufacturing industry today. The point I have been talking about is that I must be honest and pragmatic. Considering many of the concepts discussed today, we may see many cases. Our competitors are not the Internet, but China and the global competition. Comrades in the manufacturing industry, the manufacturing industry itself is your base, you are already leading in the manufacturing industry, do not give up the base areas that have been leading in the manufacturing industry, and engage in a highly competitive industry that is neither familiar nor understandable. In fact, we should calmly judge the real market environment after we have stabilized the base. We have seen many companies. Because of the influence of some concepts, the company has changed its strategic direction and failed to invest. In the past, it was a black belt of judo. Now it is replaced by wrestling. It will soon be finished after entering.
Don't be induced by virtual concepts. The same thing, success in the United States, is likely to be unsuccessful in China because we have different market environments and institutional constraints. Therefore, entrepreneurs also need to bow their heads on the one hand and look up at the sky on the other. Including the institutional reform of state-owned enterprises and the reform of ownership, including the release of many industrial policies, we need to leave some time for the government. During this time, we should wait and see. The strategy I propose is to change the same. The Internet is very fancy, there are endless changes in all aspects, there are many things that can attract you to change direction, but we must consider the core of our manufacturing. For example, in China, there is not much advantage in consumer electronics. However, we must consider that there are still many environmental problems and medical problems in China that are not solved, and these problems are precisely the part of the manufacturing industry that can play a significant role. In addition, the vast rural domestic demand market, as well as many rural families, did not use some basic electrical equipment. Can we develop our existing production capacity accordingly, accelerate the penetration of our market through the environment of the Internet, and provide high quality products and services.
