Method 1: Select cubic zirconia with a hardness of 8.5, and use the edges and corners of the gemstone to be tested to divide the cubic zirconia. The hardness and optical properties of artificial rubies and natural rubies are basically the same, and it is difficult for primary collectors to distinguish between the two. Natural rubies often contain natural flaws such as cracks, lines, cotton, etc.; artificial texture is more uniform. In long-wave UV light, the red fluorescence of artificial rubies is much brighter than natural rubies.
