Asahi Diamond, the largest diamond tool manufacturer in Japan, has been in the diamond tool maintenance business in the United States since January. The company plans to officially launch this business in April, which will reduce the time from accepting orders to delivery from one month to one week.
It has been re-grinding after shipping the product from the United States to Japan, and customers are keen to maintain it locally. The company hopes to increase product sales by shortening the delivery time of regrind.
The company's US-based sales company, Asahi Diamond America (Ohio), will develop the business. At the end of last year, Asahi Diamond shipped some repair equipment such as grinders from Japan and deployed three technicians from Japan and local employers. Currently, Japanese technicians are training local technicians and will be officially responsible for this business from April. It is planned to increase the number of personnel to about 10 within two years.
